Labrador Marley’s Unstoppable Spirit with his new wheels

WE WELCOME AND INTRODUCE THE VERY SPECIAL BOY MARLEY. WARNING, TRIGGER ALERT – YOU WILL FALL DEEPLY IN LOVE WITH THIS SWEET BOY BY THE END OF HIS STORY OR EVEN BEFORE!

Here is the scrumptious and super handsome Marley, he has been an adored member of Michelle’s family for 8 years and 6 months. He entered their lives as a roly-poly puppy. Marley was chosen by Michelle’s daughters for his charmingly chunky appearance!

For over eight years, Marley has been so in love with life. Loving his walkies, cuddles from Michelle and hooman siblings and we understand being in charge of numerous tennis balls!

One of his favourite games involves grabbing socks or pants and teasing everyone to engage in a game of chase. Cheeky boy!

However, just this August, Michelle and family faced a devastating moment when Marley received a diagnosis of spinal cancer. The news of course left them totally heartbroken!

Now, Marley being adored member of the family Michelle refused to give up on him. While the vets suggested a difficult decision, Michelle made up her own mind that she was going to try anything and everything before she let Marley go — she decided to try doggy disability wheels to improve Marley’s quality of life.

Marley’s cheerful personality remained, Marley begun to understand how to use the wheels and Michelle knew she had made the right decision!

The new wheels allowed Marley to get around enjoying his precious walks once again.

After having had his wheels for a while Marley began to yelp due to back pain. Michelle took him back the vet.

Medications helped for a while, but soon Marley’s discomfort continued. Thinking again what she could do to help Marley, Michelle thought about doggy physiotherapy and doggy hydrotherapy. Proactive decision made, off Marley went to his new therapies. Encouragingly, both worked really well and helped Marley in regaining some of his mobility.

WE ARE LOVING THIS VIDEO OF MARLEY, TOTALLY ATTENTIVE TO HIS HYDROTHERAPY LESSONS AND TEACHER.

Michelle realised that Marley really needed more specialised assistance and found the wonderful charity Edwards Labrador Rescue. The charity gave the best support to Marley, Michelle and family.

The emotional support and encouragement the staff gave at Edwards Labrador Rescue played such an important role in helping the family navigate all the difficulties of Marley’s condition.

Edwards Labrador Rescue showed that kindness is powerful. They supported Marley not only physically but equally importantly, emotionally too. Furthermore, they supported the whole family, a holistic approach.

In just a few short weeks since Marley’s diagnosis, his progress is amazing. It’s fascinating to see how he’s improving on a daily basis!

With his new wheels, gorgeous Marley is navigating life, albeit at a gentler pace, but his enthusiasm and love for life remain!

It’s a beautiful reminder that the will to embrace life’s joys knows no boundaries, and Marley is living proof of that. 🐾🌟❤️

We went to a dog show and I wouldn’t enter him for anything as I didn’t want sympathy votes but he won best dog as they picked him out the crowd and I sobbed x – MICHELLE

Michelle was immensely grateful for the immense support provided by Edwards Labrador Rescue. They had gone above and beyond, not only offering invaluable guidance but also financially assisting in Marley’s care. Wanting to express her gratitude and give back in a meaningful way, Michelle organised a cake sale. The event was such a success, raising a remarkable £680.

From the bottom of my heart it’s not easy but if you love your dog as much as I do then I’d never look back! However it’s not all about the wheels in a way as it’s caring for them off the wheels as in helping them around in the house etc – MICHELLE
