It’s sometimes very difficult to put into words how much our dogs mean to us. I know when we first adopted our Chihuahua JET (as most will know, he is the admin Chihuahua for this newspaper!) that we would like him a lot and he would be a lovely furry family member. But, it surprised us all that we liked him at first, then a little more then loved him and now he is the love of our life!
We also respect that not everyone likes dogs, why should they! However, HAPPY DOGGY NEWS truly believes that everyone should have a lot of respect for all dogs, the way in which a lot of lives are saved, made better, and allowed to heal with our companions we also know as furry family members and our Angels in Disguise!
We asked our lovely readers what their dogs meant to them…. we have received all your answers and have read every one. Here we publish some for you to read too!
If you would like to contribute to this page, you can send in your thoughts with the little form below!
We look forward to hearing from you all!
With love and lots of woofs!
Alison and JET the lovely little admin Chihuahua who sits on his desk working really hard (which means, taking a lot of snoozes!)

Our Romey adopted my husband and I November was 5 years I don’t know how I ever survived without him he is by far the smartest most lovable great personality he’s never done anything wrong doesn’t ever potty inside he’s 10 years old and the best he sleeps with me every night since the day we were lucky enough to get him if I could have a son I want him to be like Romey healthy, beautiful, happy playful just a little on the fluffy side but now we exercise together every day. He loves to dress up he gets so excited when we go shopping he loves people and children Romey is very loyal he always knows when I’m not feeling good! I am getting over Shingles and Romey wouldn’t leave my side and what’s so funny is Romey sleeps in our bed with me but if my husband tries to get into the bed Romey goes to attack him but in the living room or outside they are best buddies but in our bedroom it’s off limits he also hates rain or anything wet he’s the funniest at our groomer he wants to get belly rubs all day he’s my best friend couldn’t think of life without him! – SUESAN

When we first moved to Spain in 2006 we bought two lovely puppies, a Ridgeback and a Breton spaniel. Over the years we rescued five more abandoned dogs. The first was Miki, who was going to be abandoned by his family (and in Spain it usually means driving somewhere far from their home and kicking him out of the car…not all Spanish people, obviously) and he , although very wary at first, became my cuddle bug. The next were Bella and Squeak, who wefound wandering, starving and covered in ticks. Lastly we found Harry and Arthur, two puppies, in a sackat the side of the road. I loved my pack, but over the years my beautiful dogs died one by one until I brought Arthur and Squeak back to the UK in 2021. They’re both going strong, although Squeak is now very old but lively. She went blind early in that year but has managed to find her way very well in her new home. Arthur is a mastin/german shepard cross and manages to shed every day of the year…and I mean enough to stuff a cushion every day. I can’t imagine my life without them. – CAROL
