TED is owner training with the wonderful RAD Assistance Dogs – Assistance Dogs – Leicester, England

He helps our friend Laura with her everyday life! RAD assistance dogs are angels on this Earth. They are trained to help with mental health disabilities and boy do they make a difference to the lucky people who have them living by their side!

We wanted to update you on his training as we are totally in love with him and his doggy mission!

Having passed his intermediate course, he has now started his advanced course recently. TED we are so proud of you!

You will not believe what this little guy is capable of!

TED with his lovely Mum Laura.

TED can……

Bed and Settle which is helping his lovely owner Laura stay calm inside or outside of the home, including supporting her in Restaurants and at some of her favourite activities.

Ted is also trained to understand the human emotion of crying. He will show compassion with hugs and kisses when Laura ever becomes sad.

He is able to help with anxiety habits, he will pop his paw on Laura to remind her she doesn’t need to scratch, bite her nails, or hit her head in frustration.

He will sit and stay while Laura moves around the room to get things and he leads her to a seating area when he senses she is not well.

Ted also can do DPT – this is deep pressure therapy. Ted will lay against Laura’s chest, putting pressure on her so that her heart rate drops to a calmer state.

Laura told us ‘ I have heart problems and Ted alerts me when my heart rate goes high and drops to the point I can collapse. He will go and fetch help then lay across my chest doing dpt – Ted is such an amazing boy!’
