REMEMBERING BEAUTIFUL RUBY!

Today we are Remembering the very special girl RUBY!
This is a little emotional for us too to write! – We have been in contact with Ruby’s Mum and Dad for a couple of years and have posted her photo regularly to our Facebook Page! We followed her shenanigan’s for those couple of years! Her photo’s showed us how super loved she was, how super appreciated she was and the fun life she led on a daily basis!
So it was very sad to hear when she passed for her next adventures! Of course, RUBY is happy and taking her wealth of understanding to share with all the other doggy’s she now lives with over the RAINBOW BRIDGE!
Jacqueline and John rescued this beautiful girl when she was seven months! They knew they were going to love her but they didn’t quite realise quite how much! How much she would positively change their lives!
RUBY started life in a household which was very busy and her owners just couldn’t cope with having a dog!
It was Jacqueline who heard that RUBY needed to be re-homed, so she hopped in the car and went to visit her! Loving RUBY instantly, she decided she wanted RUBY to meet John and took her for a car ride to meet him!

The story is obvious from this point – John too fell in love with her and RUBY had found her wonderful new forever home!
Jacqueline and John were advised to keep RUBY on a lead as she was a little wayward! This wasn’t the real RUBY though! She settled in so well with Jacqueline and John that on her first walk she never even left their sides. From that day the bond was truly created – one of mutual pure love and admiration!

John needs some help in life due to his illness and it was surprisingly RUBY that managed to be a huge part of this! She instinctively knew John was not well and was so intelligent she was able to be shown the items that John needed taking to him – not a difficult task for this wonderful girl – it all just happened as second nature!

RUBY would go out with John in his little truck and sit with him for hours at the fishing lake. The best companion we would say! She also understood that John couldn’t get around as fast as he wanted and RUBY was happy to walk at a pace which kept up with his wheelchair. Jacqueline told us that once, John’s wheelchair charger caught fire and RUBY kept nudging her until she followed her to the kitchen so that she could show her the danger and disaster that was impending!

Without any training, RUBY also realised when John was having a hypo with his diabetes – she would nudge him to advise he needed to do something about his health now!
RUBY was anyone’s idea of a perfect companion. She was a very laid back girl but at the same time would be ‘on guard’ like any trained assistance doggy!

The whole village knew and loved RUBY – not difficult to understand this! Totally impossible not to fall in love with her! She got on with all the other dogs as well as humans!

We asked what was RUBY’S favourite things to do in life. Jacqueline told us SLEEP (LOL!) She also loved playing games, going for her walkies, she loved being with her human Nan, jumping in the water chasing her graving bones!

She also loved Jacqueline’s sister and her 3 dogs. She loved to sneak on the bed when she went on her holidays and stayed in the Premier Inn Hotels. ( a lady who knew a comfortable bed when she came across one! )

I didn’t know how much she changed our lives till we lost her! I have no bad memories with RUBY, it has been a pleasure to have her in our lives and that day when she chose us was the best decision she ever made for us! – JACQUELINE
