SO IN LOVE WITH RESCUE BOY COOPER!

TODAY WE ARE INTRODUCING YOU TO THE VERY WONDERFUL BOY COOPER!

We spoke to COOPER’S lovely Mum Mandy about writing a little story for her gorgeous RESCUE Boy!

When Mandy replied to the questions we asked her, her writing was so fluid that we asked her if she would be happy for us to publish just as she had written – she agreed!

So, here is COOPER’S STORY!

WARNING! – you will fall in love with COOPER by the time you finish reading his story!

Mandy writes…….

Cooper was 5 years and 7 days when we rescued him.

I had been looking on rescue sites and his little face just melted my heart. I couldn’t believe such a beautiful boy couldn’t find a home!

I fell in love with him immediately. My husband had had a knee operation so couldn’t come with me to the first meet. I got home and said ‘I want him.’ He’s bigger than he looks in pics but he’s so lovely!

We had been told from his foster parent that he would be a handful! He doesn’t like men, he was kicked by a man, kids pulled at his tail and he was attacked by another dog.

We were prepared for the long haul and knew we would have to put a lot of time into making him feel safe. (we are so very happy COOPER came across Mandy and husband, his life could have turned out very different from the one we are publishing!)

When we took him home for the first time we just put his bed in the living room and his toys next to the bed and just sat on the sofa. We decided we would just carry on as normal and when he was ready he might come to us!

We were told he would sulk and would probably take a few weeks for him to settle!

Well, after 30 mins he came for a fuss!!!!! We were told don’t look him in the eyes as he will be grumpy and growl if you try to stroke him.

He got up on the sofa in between my husband and I and let us stroke him for a good 20 mins! (It is always so amazing how dog’s, no matter what their life has held for them in the past are still able to trust us humans – COOPER must have instinctively known that his new forever home family were there to love him unconditionally!)

He followed us every time we moved to the kitchen and back!

Cooper had had 2 failed adoptions. We were worried he wouldn’t settle but he has been part of the family from day 1!

He trusts us and seems so happy! (we certainly agree with this Mandy!)

Cooper loves a walk especially if it’s near water. He goes straight in for a little swim. He likes to dive all over the living room carpet after he’s eaten. He seems to think it’s his napkin !!! He sort of wipes each side of his mouth on the carpet whilst sliding around. It’s like he has a mad 5 minutes!

COOPER WE LOVE THIS ‘LOVING THE OUTDOOR LIFE’ PHOTO – WE ARE GUESSING YOU WERE IN NEED OF A BUBBLE BATH WHEN YOU GOT BACK HOME!

Cooper likes to greet some dogs on his walks but he doesn’t like people trying to stroke him. When I take him for a walk on my own and a man says good morning, Cooper growls at them as if to say don’t talk to her she’s mine ha ha.

Coopers favourite toy is a reindeer. (you can see this in his beautiful photo below!)

We asked Mandy if she could remember anything COOPER had done in the past that still makes her laugh when thinking about it ……. she told us…. ‘Cooper nearly pulled my husband into the river at  Matlock Bath on his first walk there  – now my husband is 18 stone and a strong solid man so that was very funny to see him nearly land in the water as Cooper was so excited to get into the water!’

(sorry Steve we are giggling at this too!)

LIVING THE BEST LIFE POSSIBLE NOW! ENJOYING WALKS AND THE WATER WITH DAD STEVE! (WE HAVE STOPPED GIGGLING NOW FROM THE PICTURE PAINTED IN OUR MINDS FROM THE PREVIOUS CHAPTER!)

Coopers a big hairy bear! He is such a softie and loves a good ear rub and a cuddle. He can be grumpy if you tell him to lay down whilst we are eating our dinner! He sounds like a teenager back chatting! He likes to be involved in all aspects of our life!

On the 27th of June we will have had Cooper 1 year!

COOPER WE ARE SO VERY HAPPY FOR YOU – YOU ARE SERIOUSLY ADORABLE!

My husband Steve and I truly believe Cooper chose us as much as we chose him. He fitted straight in to our life  and has brought such happiness to our lives. He obviously feels safe and settled with us and we wouldn’t be without him and love him to bits!

NOW PART OF A LOVING FAMILY!

THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH MANDY FOR WRITING THIS BEAUTIFUL UPLIFTING STORY!

Please don’t blame us now you have fallen in love with COOPER – we did warn you! LOL!

This is an inspirational story and gives hope to all the other doggy’s who have not settled in with their previous families! Don’t give up on a doggy you have fallen in love with just because circumstances haven’t worked for them before! Some dogs are like Orchids, they can flourish but only in the right soil and surroundings! COOPER is an Orchid doggy and the Orchids are just the best when nurtured correctly!

We thank Mandy from the bottom of our hearts for allowing us to publish COOPER’S story and we send COOPER himself 1000 kisses! We are smitten!

Mandy and Steve would like us to mention the amazing doggy charity YAPPY EVER AFTER – DOG RESCUE! and the wonderful lady who fostered COOPER on his journey to his fabulous new life!

‘It was a very smooth process and Louise Radford who runs it is marvellous. Leonie, Coopers foster Mum was also brilliant. Any questions we had after we adopted him she would answer which was a big help in settling him in.’
