BIG DUNCAN – Rescued at 18 months, living the best life AT MATURE AGE OF almost 13!

WE ARE SO HAPPY TO BE WRITING A LITTLE STORY FOR THE GORGEOUS DUNCAN, A.K.A. BIG DUNCAN (named after the Everton Footy player, Duncan Ferguson!)

This beautiful boy was almost not here to tell the tale but happily was rescued by Clare and Brian!

It was the brilliant DOG’S TRUST who rescued this little guy from Ireland, being very close to his termination date!

Now DUNCAN wasn’t the doggy that Clare had decided to visit at the Dog’s Trust in Kenilworth! She had her eye on another doggy at first! That particular doggy was found not to be a suitable match for Clare – But………. the Dog’s Trust employee’s realised they had come across someone who could give a doggy a wonderful ‘forever home’ and asked if she would consider an 18 month old ‘scruffy dog!’ (oh my goodness, we adore a scruffy doggy!)

It takes time to decide whether a doggy is the doggy that will benefit the most from what you have to offer – sometimes you have your heart on one doggy and that changes, you need a little time to process!

Anyway, Clare agreed to meet the second doggy! Along came DUNCAN – oh my goodness, Clare fell in love with him immediately! (how could you not, really!)

Clare needed her husband Brian to come along and meet DUNCAN too to see what his thoughts were! Well as you can guess, the story we are writing is about DUNCAN’S fabulous life with his ‘forever family’ Clare and Brian! They said yes to the Doggy!

Some doggy’s need time to settle into their new home but this beautiful little boy adjusted straight away – he was as Good as Gold as soon as he arrived!

Well DUNCAN you got very very lucky and this has made our hearts melt here at HAPPY DOGGY NEWS!

Today DUNCAN is a fabulous 13 years old this year! He is full of energy and being so fit and strong still runs round the park like a 2 year old!

YOU GO DUNCAN!!!

As well as his many runs round the park, DUNCAN is a busy boy! He absolutely loves the beach as you can see by the stunning photo’s below!

You are such a handsome boy DUNCAN!

Clare told us (and we are finding this very amusing!) – ‘He’s a nightmare… if he finds a dead creature he has to dig a hole and put it in it… if I watch him he’ll dig it back up. It can take an hour for a proper burial !!!!!!’

We love this wonderful boy’s character! He is very quirky, loving to have his long lie in each morning and not eating until after lunch time! Why not DUNCAN, you are a fabulous mature gentledoggy and we love it!

He also loves cuddles with his teddy’s! – Awwwwwwww, stop that cuteness DUNCAN!

Chasing squirrels and rabbits and balls, DUNCAN just loves a chase around (this is why you are so fit DUNCAN!)

Now DUNCAN, your human Mum has told us something and we hope this isn’t a secret but you prefer humans to doggy’s! This being to do with you believing you are The King and you prefer not to tolerate other pooches! – lol……. (we get it DUNCAN, we really do and you are a King darling!) Lol!

Clare and Brian set their alarm to go off in the morning but really there is no need as this lovely boy comes in to wake them each morning about an hour before the alarm goes off!

DUNCAN is adored by everyone! His gift to his loyal fans at Christmas is a wonderful calendar of himself! (we would love one of these this year, can we put our name down?)

What an amazing boy!

A life so embraced! – almost as if he know’s this is a gift and needs to be cherished!

DUNCAN we are in love with you and have so very much loved writing your fabulously cheeky boy story!
