REMEMBERING Gorgeous DOUGAL – a zest for life!

We are so honoured to have been sent a wonderfully written little story by Dougal’s Mum!
Becky wanted to share the love she had for her amazing boy DOUGAL, who lived a short but totally enriched life! Wow! DOUGAL you are super gorgeous and we can see that not a day passed you by without you grabbing it by the paws!
Such an insprirational boy!
During lockdown Becky started making regular video’s of DOUGAL ‘ DAILY DOSE OF DOUGAL’ – she published them to Facebook and of course they were a Daily Dose of Happiness for DOUGAL’S followers!
Becky writes ….
My friend uttered the fatal words “would you like to go look at some puppies” my fate was sealed, I of course said yes!
I had lost my first dog in Feb 18 and quite frankly my heart was and still is broken, his name was Stig.
I knew I would have another dog but it wasn’t planned, I wasn’t looking, I never thought I’d fall for a dirty blonde Labrador but I did. He just stood out from the litter, he stole my heart. Meeting him was a little sad at first his mum had bitten him and left a wound on his neck, so he was a little subdued when I met him but after puppy cuddles i fell in love, the lady said she wouldn’t let him go until his would had healed so I would go visit him. The name Dougal was fitting it just suited him.

I’ve no idea how to describe Dougal, he was intelligent, clever, he loved to play, his favourite toy was ducky and balls, he loved to play fetch! He had a knack of finding toys on his walks ( the photo of him laying down with toys between his paws are all the toys he found, not one was bought by me! ) people just loved him, he was goofy, gentle.

His favourite people was Catherine or auntie Catherine she looked after him when I went away in Nov 19, he loved her. There was also auntie Sarah who was his dog sitter. He made many friends at hers!

This was taken on one of his last walks before he became ill. As you can see he made us both laugh with his antics. He had a play bark and I loved how he play bowed to get your attention!
He was my doggy saviour!
Daily dose of Dougal came about because I live by myself and at the time of lock down I wasn’t in a relationship that came later. I thought how much he gave me I wanted to share it with people. It was usually a photo of him asleep but then I’d post videos of him!
This last video made me laugh and still does, he hadn’t quite got the hang of swimming but bless him he sure did try!!
He helped my through lockdown, he didn’t know what was going on in the world and having him just there kept me from feeling isolated and lonely. I had a great bubble but he was my family. He helped mend my broken heart. He was taken to soon.
People just fell in love with him, he gave the best cuddles you couldn’t help but smile when he goofed around. Xx

Gorgeous DOUGAL earnt his ANGEL WINGS just before his 2nd Birthday!
He will be so missed each and every day but in the knowing he had such a truly fabulous life Becky can be reassured that DOUGAL was given the best life ever!
We know that DOUGAL will now be enjoying his adventures over the RAINBOW BRIDGE and no doubt will be showing other doggy’s how to embrace the moment!
Thank you so very much Becky for this gorgeous story!
Of course, we have fallen in love with DOUGAL! We thank DOUGAL for his teachings on this Earth, his love for Becky and his inspirational embrace of life!
