GORGEOUS LOTTIE’S ‘FOREVER HOME’ STORY!
We have the pleasure today of writing the story of the very beautiful girl LOTTIE!
Jacqui wrote to us and kindly shared her story of her beautiful girl LOTTIE!
Jacqui had very sadly recently lost her Border Collie and after this loss, she decided she would not have another dog! She hadn’t been without a dog before but this was a decision she made to herself!
Anyway …………. this all changed!!!!!!! Her daughter showed her a page on Facebook called SANTERPAWS – it’s a dog charity based in Bulgaria. Jacqui took a relaxed look through the doggy’s that needed ‘forever homes’! Jacqui told us ‘ I started to look through the page and this little dog caught my eye on there!’
We know what you mean Jacqui, we saw our little guy JET on a gumtree ad and that was that! We drove from Bournemouth to Bristol and back the very same day! He just caught our eye and we knew just like you!
Jacqui spoke to SANTERPAWS charity and then applied to take ownership of LOTTIE (previously given the name by the charity of Ottilie – ah we see how you chose the name LOTTIE). She got a call the next day and a virtual house check was carried out. This beautiful girl arrived in the U.K. around two weeks later at the age of six months (they do not rehome or allow younger dogs to travel!) She arrived neutered, microchipped and vaccinated.
This beautiful photo shows LOTTIE and Jacqui when they first met. LOTTIE had just travelled from Bulgaria and naturally was scared!
Jacqui knew it would take a lot of love and patience for LOTTIE to trust her! It took almost 4 months before she would even walk past Jacqui, hiding in a corner or in the greenhouse.
We all know how amazing Dogs learn to retrust with enough love shown to them! Well Jacqui did just this! Look at the difference at LOTTIE now!
Jacqui says ‘ She’s changed my life in many ways, the best being that I know she loves me unconditionally, she’s given me back my passion for walking – we are like best friends and she relies on me for everything!’
It took longer for LOTTIE to be brave enough to go for her first walk – take a look at this fabulous photo – LOTTIE’S FIRST WALK! Now this little lady loves to walk, she loves to play with kids and other dogs!
LOTTIE is a very commical girl who is so inquisitive, she loves to chew anything she can get hold of! She enjoys lots of toys today but this took a while as she didn’t understand what a toy really was at first!
LOTTIE we are so proud of you and have totally loved writing your story! Please keep in touch and we think you are such an inspiration!
