IF YOU HAVEN’T READ BUSTER’S STORY YOU CAN DO SO HERE …. https://happydoggynews.com/2021/12/02/busters-gets-adopted-lovely-story/

We recently wrote about the fabulous boy BUSTER who found his forever home with the help of D.D’s DOG RESCUE https://www.facebook.com/groups/ddsdogrescueuk/?ref=share and his fosterer NEIL MILLS. (@neilmills)

We wanted to update you with photos from his forever home and also to show you the very wonderful letter BUSTER’s adoptive parents have sent to the wonderful CHARITY D.D.’s DOG RESCUE and to Neil.

BUSTER has settled so well into his wonderful ‘forever home’! This photo has totally warmed our hearts!

THIS IS THE WONDERFUL UPDATE AND RECOMMENDATION LETTER WRITTEN BY ADOPTED PARENT OF BUSTER -Written by Lainey –

When our beloved 11 year old staffie died in May of this year we were naturally distraught and bereft. After a few months of saying ” never again, no more dogs”, I tentatively began looking at the STB pages on Facebook with nothing other than adoption in mind. Through a link to DDs Rescue Dogs I saw a lovely staffie cross boxer called Teddy I thought would suit us. Upon making enquiries about that dog I started to follow Neil Mills who was doing the assessment. When I spoke to Julie it transpired that Teddy was already reserved for adoption but she told me of an 8 year old male staffie that was coming into their care the following week. Neil would be assessing this dog so I eagerly followed his Facebook page waiting to see photos. I learned the dogs name was Buster, a name that resonated with me as it was also the name of the very first staffie we rescued 25 years ago.

Neil began sending me regularly photos and updates on Buster’s progress. He told me that Buster had some separation anxiety issues but this didn’t phase me as our last dog had similar issues. After a couple of weeks of looking at photos and hearing about the headway Neil was making with Buster, it was suggested that we went for a meet & greet. I think I’m right when I say that our first meeting with Buster went terrifically well for all concerned. He came running out to greet us tail and bottom end wiggling like mad! Thankfully he seemed to take to both me and my husband right away.

Buster was booked in for castration a few days later and we were told that all being well we could have him the following weekend. Neil continued to give us regular updates and we eagerly travelled down to collect Buster on 27th November. We were met with yet another warm welcome from both Buster and Neil who later said their goodbyes to each other. It was a sad occasion but also a happy one as Neil’s job was now done and Buster was on his way to his forever home with his new ‘mum’s and ‘dad’.

BUSTER LOVES HIS BEAUTIFUL WALKS – WOW! BUSTER YOU LIVE IN SUCH A GORGEOUS AREA!

I can’t say I wasn’t a little apprehensive at first, wondering how Buster was going to settle and if he going to like his new home. I needn’t have been. He quickly adapted to his new surroundings and has been so very well behaved in all manner of situations that may not be familiar to him. He is proving to be very popular with our friends and family and me and my husband are already in love with him. We have continued with the training regime that Neil enthusiastically undertook and Buster is proving to be a quick learner and really keen to please. People say that ‘every cloud has a silver lining’ – I believe this is going to be the case for Buster. We are thrilled with our new addition to the family and are very thankful to both DDs Dog Rescue and Neil Mills for all of the good work they have done – not only with regards to Buster but all of the dogs that end up in their care.

WHAT MORE CAN WE SAY! – THIS IS SUCH A HEART FELT LETTER OF APPRECIATION FOR D.D.’S DOG RESCUE AND FOSTERER NEIL MILLS!
